What a blast our first Christmas was with Abby, minus John being sick most of the week of Christmas, unfortunately. The three of us celebrated together on Christmas Eve morning, opening gifts and just enjoying the morning together. Abby was fairly fascinated with tearing into the wrapping paper but t
hat lost its novelty pretty quickly. She was soon ready to play with her new toys. That afternoon we headed a couple of hours West to the Chipmans' to celebrate with the whole fam. Abby again enjoyed tearing into the wrapping paper with the added bonus of playing with Grandma, Granddad, Aunt Marcy, Aunt Lucy, her uncles and five cousins. She again soon lost interest in opening the gifts and was more fascinated by the company, the toys as well as the tree. She attempted her first half-step, as we call it, on Christmas Eve with a little coaxing from her oldest cousin Trevor (who's 16)!We enjoyed yet another Christmas celebration on Christmas morning with just the five of us--us and the C
hipmans. We enjoyed some quality time with Grandma and Granddad. Abby also enjoyed pushing and walking behind her little shopping cart. She was pretty good at it by the time we left a couple of days after Christmas! She'll no doubt be walking any day now. All in all, we had a great Christmas and are looking very forward to beginning even more family traditions for the celebration of Jesus' birth as Abby gets a bit older.
