Crocodile Dock

What a fun week we had down at Crocodile Dock. This week was Vacation Bible School week at our church. I had the pleasure of being the Early Childhood Coordinator, which basically meant recruiting, equipping and encouraging the volunteers for our EC classes (ages 3-5). We had eight of those classes! Whew! About 175 kids and 40-50 volunteers. I believe we ended up with a total of around 400 kids registered and 200 volunteers giving their time and resources. What a blessing...and what a blast! John helped out by rotating wherever we needed him most in the EC classes. He enjoyed the little ones, but was pretty worn out by week's end...just like the rest of us!

Abby seemed to thoroughly enjoy Jacques Le Croc, the VBS "mascot," but she really wasn't all about her class, unfortunately. VBS ran from 6:00-8:15 each night, so I think it was just too much too late at night for her. She sure talked a lot about Jacques though! She awoke from her nap each afternoon saying..."Mommyyyy, I wanna go see Jacques Le Croooocccc!" :) I think he made an impression. She also had a blast with her buddy, Maggie, during the large group worship each night. They constantly jumped and/or ran in circles. So fun to watch them enjoy the celebration! And she's been singing the songs constantly. :)

What an incredible experience to be part of the director team for VBS. It was such a joy to work with each of them and to serve alongside our committed volunteers. Kudos to everyone for a job extremely well done!! Looking forward to next year!

Below are a few pics from the week. The directors enjoyed getting "swamped" by the kids, who definitely earned the right, on the last night during the Family Fun Night. They and their parents gave throughout the week a very generous amount of money to a local mission to help out babies and kids in our area. Awesome!
