Football is upon us!

Probably like a lot of you, we've thoroughly enjoyed being outside a lot in recent days with this unseasonably cool August. It's warm enough to be in our kiddie pool in the afternoons but cool enough to enjoy the playground by our house and walks in the neighborhood most any time of the day.
Something else we recently enjoyed as a family is Fan Appreciation Day for Illini Football at the Stadium this past Sunday. Abby absolutely loved running around on the field. Of course, she didn't notice the multi-million dollar new turf they have (which is quite nice, by the way), but she loved running free. There were tons of people there, lots of excitement in the air and very long lines for autographs from Coach Zook and the most popular players. We had a great time. You could almost smell the brats cooking on the grills and hear the band marching up Kirby to the Stadium. Ahhh, football season...I think Fall officially begins when football season kicks off, and it should be another exciting Fall in Illini Nation.

We'll see how much of the games we'll get to enjoy with Abby so active. She's definitely ready to cheer on the Orange and Blue. Every time we ask her a color of something she says, without prompting, one of two things..."orange" or "blue"...no kidding. I guess you really can be born an Illini fan. :-)
