grateful to be a mommy

Growing up I remember each year in my little "school years" memory book I'd fill in the blank for "What do you want to be when you grown up?" All but one year I wrote in "a mom." I believe that one particular year my desire was to be a baseball player. Must have been a particularly good season on the diamond. :-)

So, I grew up wanting to be a mommy, and I'm blessed beyond words to have that opportunity now years later. I consider it such a blessing to be not just a mommy but to be Abby's mommy. Sure there are days when I'm at my wits end with tantrums, sassiness and the like, but I wouldn't trade my job for anything in the world. I'm truly honored that God chose me to be her mommy, and I'm thrilled that God chose Abby to be my daughter. Oh, how I love this girl...

And to my own mom... You've always been a wonderful example of love, encouragement and support to me, Mom. You have such a generous heart and a one contagious smile. I'm grateful for you. I'm blessed to call you "Mom." And I love you bigger than the whole wide world! Happy Mother's Day!
