I just can't believe my nephew, Trevor, is old enough to be graduating from high school. Wow, do I feel old! We enjoyed our time with John's family this weekend celebrating the graduation. As I watched Trevor's commencement, my thoughts wandered back to my own high school graduation and also forward to the day we celebrate Abby's. In the blink of an eye she'll be walking across a stage, shaking a principal's hand and accepting her diploma.
John and I occasionally discuss what she'll be like as a teenager, where God will lead her in life and what kind of relationship we'll have with her as an adult. But we soon come back to our sweet, bubbly, curly-headed two-year-old, grateful for the many blessings she brings us each day and grateful for each moment God gives us with her. In an effort not to let these younger years slip away too quickly, for now I'll continue to thoroughly enjoy Abby running across the living room, wrapping her sweet, little arms around my neck, welcoming my hugs and kisses. Lord, help me savor these moments.
